I would if I had robot ears

(Inspired by a facebook post by Mattspeed on February 20, 2010.)

robot ears hear robot sounds
that robots make when robots frown
and laugh and cry
robot ears hear robot tears
run down robot faces
leaving wet traces on robot cheeks
leaving streaks of robot rust
well after humans turn to dust

The Dystopian Future Is Now

Just a random creative burst...

The dystopian future is now
Sham Wow!
Spaghetti strapped Cinderella girls
With neon shoulder pieces
Abound!
The hounds from hell
Sniff and growl but finally cower
Towers of steel and glass
Erupt from the ground
Like redwoods
And tarnish in the un-day sun
To rot and crumble
After sunset
After sunset
Breezes dry our moistened lips
Sips of gin and Jager
Drip, drip, drip
To form
Stalagmite memories
That jar the senses
Into dusty mason jars
Apothecary specimens
From a bygone time
For a distant future
Bloodlines
From a knife
Run deep
Deeper than a bathyscaphe
Where bug-eyed fish
EXPLODE!
In luminescent darkness
Tourniquets
Are foreplay toys
Paper cuts, a promise
Salty, copper-flavored
Skin
And ink
And razor marks
Burns
And tears
And tender kisses
The mother’s milk
Of pleasure
The threat
The fear
The stark reality
Reflected
In the million
Broken mirror shards
Across the fetid ground
Fait accompli!
The Utopian future is now
